A full continuum of counseling services is available for students enrolled at Homewood Center. These services are provided by full-time Homewood staff members, as well as community mental health providers.
Homewood has two school counselors who assist students with meeting their educational goals. These counselors work with students on developing educational plans and also provide individual, group, and crisis counseling as appropriate.
Community mental health services are provided to students at Homewood through a program called Community Counseling Connections. These services include individual, group, and family supports and interventions. We have offered anger management groups, art therapy, yoga, character education groups, effective parenting workshops, social skills groups, and substance abuse treatment and support. The services are voluntary, cost free, and are open to all students at Homewood. Service providers are hired contractually through the Howard County Public School System.
